Najib Hamza is a seasoned banking and trade finance professional with over 19 years of progressive experience spanning Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Treasury Management, and Structured Trade Finance. Throughout his career, he has built a strong track record of driving business growth, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative financial solutions across diverse market segments.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Treasury Management from Bayero University, Kano, and possesses extensive expertise in structuring and financing export transactions, with a particular focus on supporting non-oil export businesses and facilitating international trade opportunities.

Najib is a highly respected finance professional and a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Financial Analysts Society of Nigeria (FASN), and the Chartered Institute of Management.

Before his current role, he spent a significant part of his career at Sterling Bank, where he gained extensive experience across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, and Treasury Operations, contributing to business development, relationship management, and financial market activities.

He currently serves as Head, Trade Business and Strategy at Equinorth Capital, where he leads the firm’s trade finance and export business initiatives. In this capacity, he oversees export operations across Northern Nigeria, drives strategic business development, structures export financing solutions, and supports the growth of Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.
